What we believe

  • We believe there is only one true and living God who is creator and sustainer of all things. God is eternal without beginning or end, holy, personal, all-powerful, all-knowing, merciful, and just. God is revealed to us as one God in three persons; Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only son. He is co-equal and co-eternal with God. Although he is equal with God in every way, he came to Earth to pave the way for the salvation of humanity. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, served, taught, performed miracles, died on a cross for our sins, and rose again to a new life. His death paid the penalty that we owed and there is no other way to a right standing before God than by grace through faith in the work of Jesus Christ.

  • We believe in God the Holy Spirit. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior, and effects regeneration. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the assurance of God to bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

  • We believe that human beings are made in the image of God.  Because of this, we believe that all humans are worthy of love and respect. God created the first man and woman, placed them in a beautiful garden, and they were originally innocent. These first humans chose to rebel against God and brought sin into the world. Therefore, all of creation suffers the consequences that sin introduces. Further, we believe that all humans have willfully chosen to sin against God, creating the need for forgiveness in each person’s life. The only way to receive necessary forgiveness from God is by faith through the grace of God, offered to us through Jesus’ substitutionary death on the cross.

  • We believe that salvation is God’s gift to the world, achieved by Jesus Christ through his death on the cross and resurrection to new life. We believe there is no other way to be made right with God than through Jesus Christ. Further, we believe that salvation is available to all who would repent of their sin, trust Jesus alone, and surrender their life to the Lordship of Jesus.

  • We believe the Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God’s self revelation to humanity. The bible is, from start to finish, the revelation of God’s redemptive work. As such, it is completely trustworthy and true without any mixture of error. The Bible points us to the life and work of Jesus Christ who is the criterion for Biblical interpretation.
